The Thom Abraham Show

The Thom Abraham Show debuted in Avon, NY, a suburb of Rochester, in spring, 1998, on WYSL 1040-AM. The show was the station’s only locally hosted, long form talk show and rapidly built a loyal following. Thom also served as the color analyst for the Empire Sport Network’s ECAC College Football Game of the Week, and was a regular on the network’s Fan TV program specializing in College Football. He also appeared on NESN in New England as a college football analyst. In spring of 2001, The Thom Abraham Show moved the Ft. Myers/Naples market on Sportsradio 770 ESPN. Thom took over a morning time slot that was drawing a cume listenership of just over 600. In six ratings periods, over 2 years, listenership grew to 1150, 3700, 6800, 8200 and finally over 11,000. Sales at the station doubled during this period. In Spring of 2004, the show moved to Huntsville, AL, on Sportsradio 730 WUMP and to afternoon drive. The Show has once again shown tremendous growth and has become a fixture on the Huntsville sports scene. In addition to the daily show, Thom also co-hosts the Gameday Tailgate Show on location with the Crimson Tide, is the Voice of the Tennessee Valley Vipers in the af2 and does color on select games for the Huntsville Havoc SPHL hockey team.

Thom’s background includes 11 years of coaching at the High School and College level. In high school, Thom earned 4 varsity letters in Football and Wrestling. After passing on an opportunity to play football at Ashland College in Ohio, Thom played one year of Hockey at St. John Fisher College in upstate New York, and spent one season on the school’s golf team.

In July of 2007, the show began simulcasting on The UMP and its sister Cumulus station in Middle Tennessee, ESPN 106.7 The Fan (WNFN).

Thom lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee with his wife Allyn and four of their nine children. Three of their daughters live in Florida, daughter Kelly recently moved to Harvest, and eldest son Joe attends the University of Alabama, where he is a student assistant on Nick Saban's staff. Thom and Allyn's youngest children (sons Tom, Danny, and John, and daughter Grace) live at home.

Thom’s favorite teams include the Cleveland Browns, New York Yankees, Boston Bruins, Notre Dame and Alabama.
